Uber and Bolt drivers deal with a wide range of problems that affect safety, earnings, and working conditions.
By joining together, drivers can negotiate for higher earnings, fairer rates, and transparency in how fares are calculated.
The union provides legal support, advocacy, and resources if drivers face issues with deactivations, unfair complaints, or unsafe working conditions.
As part of a union, drivers have a say in policies, app changes, and company practices that impact your daily work.
These urgent issues threaten the very survival of the PCO industry
Prices have dropped 20% in the last 6 months while inflation has soared 50%. Drivers are working more hours for less pay in real terms.
The way jobs are offered forces dangerous, rapid reactions. Constant pressure to accept trips instantly leads to distracted driving and accidents.
Restricted ZEC vehicles costing drivers thousands in expensive plug-in hybrid hire/lease costs. Pure electric vehicles aren't viable for taxi work.
Uber signing unlimited drivers while existing drivers struggle to get work. Oversaturation means longer waits and lower earnings.
TFL delays leave drivers jobless for months, accumulating thousands in debt while they wait. No income but still paying vehicle costs.
Local authorities imposing stricter rules daily while offering no support. Constant moving goalposts and additional costs.
"I'm £8,000 in debt from when TFL took 4 months to renew my license. My ZEC vehicle costs me £600/month more. I earn less now than 3 years ago despite inflation. We can't fight this alone anymore."
— Mohammed, Uber driver for 5 years, London
Drivers report earning less today than three years ago, despite similar working conditions. We will press Uber on its response to falling driver incomes.
Currently, drivers' middle names are visible to riders. Riders can screenshot driver profile photos. We're calling for restrictions to improve privacy.
Wait time often fails to start if drivers cannot reach riders directly. Multiple-stop trips don't start the clock when arriving at first stops.
New job alerts take over the entire screen, blocking navigation and other safety-critical information.
Drivers who opt into Uber's "boost" scheme report fewer jobs than usual, undermining the purpose of the feature.
When cars are damaged and accounts suspended, drivers want Uber to provide some form of support during the suspension.
Concerns include the queuing system, rematch process, fake trips, and car park facilities. Problems with how trip radar functions at airports.
Drivers say there is a shortage of suitable accessible vehicles. Green Light Hubs in Scotland face staffing and accessibility issues.
Members want clarity on what data Uber retains when false allegations are made. Sick pay criteria needs review as current eligibility rules are too restrictive.
Beyond collective bargaining, we're working on a long-term solution for drivers.
Our team is in the process of developing a new driver app with 0% commission. Unlike Uber and Bolt who take 20-25% of every fare, our platform will let drivers keep 100% of their earnings.
Note: This driver-owned platform is a separate long-term initiative. Our primary focus remains forming the union for collective bargaining with existing platforms. The subscription fee supports both efforts.
£50 fare = £10-£12.50 platform fee
£50 fare = £0 platform fee
Plus a low fixed monthly fee to cover:
App Development
Licensing Fees
Operational Costs
Driver Support
Your subscription helps us build the critical mass needed to officially register and negotiate on behalf of all drivers.
Only £5/month - less than the cost of one trip. Cancel anytime.

Important: We're currently building our membership foundation. We are not yet registered as a formal trade union, but once we reach our membership target, we will immediately begin the official registration process.
Founding members will have a say in our constitution and future direction, including input on the driver-owned platform development.
